Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Gal Gadot led our ways into a star-studded trailer for Netflix’s movie line up for this year. The trio are the stars of the comedy thriller, Red Notice, as they lead our way to showcase some of the biggest names.
They also teased their upcoming movies on the streaming service. Netflix has promised to release a new movie every week as the coronavirus pandemic still surges. This will be a delight for fans as most of them have to spend their time at home.
The long lineup of Netflix includes 18 dramas, 9 thrillers, 8 animated films, and 8 romances. Red Notice will be one of the 6 action movies that are lined up. There is also a zombie movie titled Army of the Dead and various different ventures. We also get to see Melissa McCarthy in a superhero comedy, Thunder Force, with Octavia Spencer. According to reports, the story revolves around “two ordinary women who suddenly develop superpowers that usher them into the superhero world”.
There is also Bruised which will be the first movie directed by Halle Berry. The venture will see her as a disgraced MMA fighter, Jackie Justice. Not only that, but Chris Hemsworth also makes an appearance in the clip as he showcases a glimpse at his sci-fi drama, Escape From Spiderhead.
The venture revolves around two convicts who agree to undergo medical tests for a shorter sentence. There is also a movie titled The Harder They Fall which is directed by Jeymes Samuel. It features Regina King, Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, and LaKeith Stanfield.
Netflix In Competition With Other Streaming Services
Jennifer Garner also makes her appearance in the video as she talks about her love for family movies. She teased her upcoming movie, Yes Day. The venture follows parents who attempt to make it through an entire day by saying ‘yes’ to the requests made by their kids.
The Woman in the Window which features Amy Adams is a crime drama that revolves around a woman living alone in New York. She begins to spy on her new neighbors as she witnesses a disturbing act of violence.
Another exciting venture, Don’t Look Up features Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, Tyler Perry, Meryl Streep, and other big names. The movie is a political satire disaster that revolves around two astronomers who go on a high-profile media tour to warn humans of an asteroid that is approaching.
The trailer also gives us the very first look at a musical, Tick, Tick…..BOOM. it is directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and features a star-studded cast. The high-profile cast involves Vanessa Hudgens, Bradley Whitford, Andrew Garfield, Jordan Fisher, Alexandra Shipp, and Judith Light.
The musical is based on a composer in New York City who is worried he made the wrong career choice. Netflix is surely getting on board with the competition it faces with a group of new streaming services from Walt Disney Co, AT&T Inc, Comcast Corp, and Apple Inc.
Streaming services have gotten into a competition as the coronavirus pandemic has shut down all theaters. This has led viewers to stay-at-home as they search for entertainment, however, Netflix releasing more than one film per week leaves other Hollywood Studios behind.
Disney has plans to debut dozen movies this year in the theaters as well as on its streaming platform, Disney +. This includes four Marvel Studios films and two from Pixar.
