Nicki Minaj is yet to share her baby boy’s name with us. However, the rapper has revealed what he was almost going to be named as.
She revealed in an intimate chat with her Barbz on fan radio this Saturday. The rapper shared that she thought about naming her son, Ninja. She has been extremely private about her 3-month-old and she hasn’t even shared a picture of him. The rapper only refers to him as ‘Papa Bear’.
Nicki revealed, “You know what his name was supposed to be? I think l might still change it. A lot of people said they liked it, but I said, ‘Nah.’ His name was going to be Ninja.” The rapper shared that she changed her mind at the last minute. After the revelation, she liked a bunch of tweets where fans suggested that they liked the name Ninja.
She also revealed a bit about her upcoming album and said that it is not finished yet. However, she shared how grateful she is for the time off as she can focus on her music and being a new mom. Nicki welcomed her first child and son with husband Kenneth Petty back in September.
Nicki opened up about her “painful” experience with breastfeeding earlier this week and shared how her water broke in an impromptu Q&A with her fans. She recalled that she was butt naked and got out of the shower. The rapper revealed she asked her husband to rub her back.
She further explained that as she started scooting over to him in bed, she felt her water coming out. The rapper revealed she was “weirdly” calm as she quietly said, “’ ‘omg, I’m about to be in labor.’”
Nicki further opened up about her being a new mom and shared that her baby had no problem latching onto her breast while she was at the hospital. The rapper was surprised because she was scared that he would not breastfeed right away. “But breastfeeding is very painful,” she confessed. “Pumping is too. Women make this stuff look way too easy. Moms [are] really superheroes.”
Has Nicki Been Hinting At Her Pregnancy?
Nicki broke the news about her pregnancy on Instagram to some very shocked fans, in a stunning series of photos that showed her growing baby bump. She simply captioned the picture, “#Preggers”. Minaj even thanked her fans in one post sharing how excited she was about the pregnancy. “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. ”
Nicki had not revealed her due date or whether she knows the sex of the baby, but she is all smiles cradling her baby bump while sporting a bedazzled bikini and matching stiletto heels. While some fans have been touting her pregnancy as “Hollywood’s best-kept secret,” others have been convinced for months now that she was expecting.
Fans have been speculating about the rapper’s pregnancy for a while now. Especially after her recent pictures have been strategically covering her tummy.
In May, the rapper fueled rumors when she revealed that she was experiencing “nausea and peeing nonstop.” This led fans to prompt questions about whether she was pregnant. However, Minaj wouldn’t confirm or deny a pregnancy. When asked if she would share a pic of her baby bump, she responded, “Yea in a couple of months. The world ain’t ready yet.” In one instance, Nicki even listed the bizarre food combinations she had been cooking up due to certain cravings.
Chance the Rapper’s Zanies and Fools track in 2019, confirmed that she was engaged to her boyfriend and there was definitely some baby talk. She rapped on the track, “He the Clyde to my Bonnie, ’bout to walk down the aisle and be a mommy. / Ooh, I remember when I cried like, ‘Why me?’ / Now I wouldn’t exchange my life for Armani.”
Nicki’s happy news comes nearly nine months after the two tied the knot. 10 months earlier the rapper had also announced her intention to retire in order to focus on her family. “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me. Love you for LIFE,” she wrote on Twitter.
