Code 8, which caught craze of the public at Netflix in 2020, after being licensed to Netflix, is back to continue its nrxt season, and the best thing is that Netflix is getting an exclusive version of it.
Titled Code8: Part II, the sequel will see the return of Robbie Amell (upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) returning to their roles as Connor Reed, respectively. Whether Sung Kang (Fast and Furious), JJ Jones, Travis or Brown Matchett as Mary Reed will return is still unknown.
The Announcement
It was the sequel that was announced at the Banff World Media Festival and became the first Canadian-English-language film to appear this year.
The film started off its journey as a short film back in 2016 (worth a look if you haven’t seen thr short one already), and was later transformed into a feature film that was to be released in 2019 by Vertical Entertainment.
Performance
In the first Netflix movie, SVOD debuted on Netflix in all Netflix regions on April 11, 2020, from last year.
The film did reslly good and remained in the top 10 for a couple of weeks in the ranking in the US, for 16 days whereas it featured in the UK top 10 movie list for just shy of 2 weeks.
Code 8 will stay on Netflix right now if you want to jump on it. It’s also available in a large number of Netflix regions around the world, such as Netflix in the United Kingdom, and Australia, but Canada doesn’t have access to the video.
A sequel is reported to be in development for a certain period of time. A spin-off series that was reported is also believes is in development, but that was on Qibi.
