Spotify is the latest technology company switching to a flexible work model following the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘Work From Anywhere’
The live broadcast company announced on Friday that it was changing the “Work from Anywhere” model, which would allow employees to choose whether they want to be full-time office, full-time home or a combination of the two.
The company will also introduce more flexibility to work locations, so employees will be able to choose the country and city in which they work. Spotify will provide affiliate membership space for employees who choose to work remotely but are still looking for a dedicated workplace.
Change In Work Place
“As part of our ongoing Dynamic Workplace effort, we’re reevaluating our office spaces across the globe for increased sustainability, flexibility, and well-being to ensure that all of our employees, regardless of ability or situation, can work comfortably and efficiently,” the company said in a blog post. “The ultimate goal of our new design approach is to ensure that employees have a place where they can focus, collaborate, and create—whether that’s at a desk, in a conference room, or in cafe spaces.”
A growing number of companies are beginning to view remote work as a permanent option due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Salesforce announced this week that it would allow staff members to chose to re-enter the office, saying “nine to five working days have expired.” Twitter and Square allow employees to work from home “permanently,” and Microsoft said employees will have more flexibility to work from home.
